Marvel's Daredevil: 10 Iconic Comic Book Moments We Still Need To See

6. Angels Unaware

Daredevil Spider Man
Marvel Comics

The Angels Unaware arc, found in issues 1-3 of Lee Weeks’ Daredevil: Dark Nights, paints a picture of a bitter blizzard slowing New York to a standstill. Matt, after a street thug manages to get the best of him in a fight, suffers from a concussion after awakening from unconsciousness. With no memory of who he is, Matt battles his amnesia, Kingpin-hired assassins and a worsening case of hypothermia as he fights to save a wounded child before she perishes in the cold.

A sombre and reflective story for Daredevil, Angles Unaware was an arc that (like many of Daredevils best stories) quite literally beat him down to nothing, and allowed the emotion found in watching Matt build himself back up form the narrative backbone of the story.

For a series as gritty, complex and often times hard to watch as Daredevil, Angels Unaware is an appropriately bleak comic arc that condensed the core of the greatest Daredevil stories into one inspiring, triumphant moment for The Man Without Fear.
