Marvel's Daredevil: 10 Iconic Comic Book Moments We Still Need To See
5. Deflecting A Bullet
Perhaps one of the most famed stories in Daredevil history, Frank Miller’s definitive DD origin story The Man Without Fear (a heavy inspiration to much of Season 1) concludes with Matt squaring off against The Kingpins right hand man, Larks, who has taken Matt’s friend and budding protégé Mickey hostage at gunpoint after fleeing from a Matt Murdock on the warpath.
Larks, firing warning shots and ignoring Matts pleas to release Mickey, fires a killing shot at Matt- who manages to use his billy clubs to smack the bullet back at Larks, killing him.
A spectacular moment in a spectacular book, Matt's last-resort killing of Larks served as a display of just how lethal Matt's hyper-senses can make him when he’s backed into a corner. A hair-raising moment that stayed with readers long after they set the comic down, seeing this brutal display of apex predator-like reflexes would go to establish Matt as a far more capable opponent than just a mere boxer with clubs in Marvel’s Netflix world.
