Marvel's Iron Fist: 30 WTF Moments In Netflix's First Failure

8. That Clip Makes No Sense

Despite the assumption that we'd not get to see the classic Iron Fist costume in the show, Netflix pulled a clever twist on us all by introducing a clip from 1948, presumably showing Danny's predecessor as Iron Fist - Orson Randall - fighting Japanese soldiers. It was a smart way of showing off the costume without having to do it fully for Danny Rand. But it made no sense.

First of all, why is Randall fighting in a dense forest if his job is to guard the gates to K'Un-Lun. Unless reverse global warming is well in force in Netflix's Marvel universe, there's no way this is the same place as the snowy mountains Danny guards later.

And secondly, it's established that the pathway to K'Un-Lun opens every 15 years, and 1948 and 2016 (when the show is set) do not correlate to a 15 year gap. It would be open in either 2008 or 2023. Someone didn't do their maths.
