Master Of None: 10 Reasons It's The Most Underrated Netflix Original Series

1. It's Really Funny

The show succeeds as a comedy because it's funny on numerous levels. There are the cultural references, either inserted as throwaway jokes or discussed at length in creative, humorous ways. The character might be staring at Jennifer Aniston or drop a quote from a rap song and the jokes just take off from there.

The other way the show gets its laughs is through pure interactions with the characters. The way that talk with each other is so intimate, so natural, that they can say things that otherwise would've been offensive, but because they're said between friends, they're OK. The jokes are also made on the other's expense, which is made possible thanks to the bond between them.

Then there are the characters themselves, who are funny in their own right. Arnold is the master of the Kiss and Wave and he writes the best "Hi Cutie" texts. Dev's father is the first to do or say something embarrassing whenever trying to appear cool. That's just two of the plethora of characters who're capable of doing something funny at any given moment.
