Props to creator Horikoshi Kohei for remembering even the smallest of details and characters in his story. A seemingly innocuous quirk specialist in episode 1 comes back as one of the series's most disturbing villains, and a winged child Deku and Bakugo used to play with returns as a mindless Nomu.

Though the story follows the heroes, certain civilians and bystanders prove to be remarkably important to the overarching plot of the manga, more than anyone ever could have expected. Multiple people return during an iconic moment in the manga, saving Deku much in the way they as citizens were saved. Even the seemingly one-off bald man with shapes growing from his head from the very first episode returns to speak up for Deku during a chaotic time.

The most notable of these bystanders are the tall, anthropomorphic lady dubbed "ippan josei" or "ordinary woman" who Deku saves during his time alone, as well as the unnamed woman All Might rescues in Kamino during his last battle.

These people inspire Deku and All Might when they're at their lowest, proving to them that their fears and insecurities are false, and that they matter more than they realise.
