Obi-Wan Kenobi Part VI Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down
1. The Cliffhanger Hints At An Exciting New Adventure
Okay, so a second season hasn't been greenlit, but rumours are already floating around that Ewan McGregor is far from done. Whether you approve of the idea or not, it's hard not to be intrigued what the episode's final shot sets-up.
Part VI ends with Obi-Wan reuniting with Qui-Gon Jinn and riding into the sunset, presumably to learn how to become a force ghost and retain his identity after death (as he does in the original trilogy).
This ambiguous note hints Obi-Wan's story isn't quite done, and that his emotional journey and search for peace still has one last stop before the events of A New Hope. Besides, who wouldn't love to see more of McGregor and Neeson in action?
Still, the final scene could be a solid ending for the show, with no sequel on the horizon. It would work either way, leaving Obi-Wan's lost years open to interpretation.
Whatever the case, despite some flaws weighing it down - mainly in the pacing and side character department - there should be no denying Obi-Wan Kenobi has been an overall blast, and its finale is its strongest instalment.
Hopefully, future Star Wars shows are able to reach the high bar it's set. May the Force be with them.
