Obi-Wan Kenobi Part VI Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down

2. It's An Emotional Goodbye

For all its action, tragedy, and touching send-offs, Part VI's greatest strength comes from just how emotional it is.

Obi-Wan realising Anakin is too far gone is a heartbreaker we'll be talking about for a very long time, as is his reunion to Qui-Gon Jinn. Reva, too, gets a wrenching and cleverly ambiguous send-off worthy of her tumultuous journey.

But there are plenty of other moments, from Obi-Wan willingly leading Vader away from the Path so they can live to fight another day, to him telling Leia she carries the most important qualities of her late parents, and is destined for great things.

It's quite remarkable how Deborah Chow brings everything together, tying up loose ends whilst setting up some new adventures, without losing sight of the characters at the series' core. I defy any Star Wars fan not to feel both nostalgic and happy watching its final act.
