Orange Is The New Black: 10 Best Moments From Season 3
5. Everyones A Jew
The cost-cutting measures being taken at the prison means that the quality of food has rapidly declined. As Morello puts it: I really liked eating. It was part of my daily routine. However, thanks to inmate Lolly, there is a way around this. If you say youre Jewish they have to give you a kosher meal, which is significantly better than what else is being served. The rest of the inmates quickly jump on the opportunity, presenting to be Jews in order to get a decent meal. This leads to a scene where theyre all interviewed one-by-one by a Rabbi, in order to prove their faith. Its a comic montage as they roll out stereotype after stereotype - I call my mother every day Dont even talk to me about shrimps! - ending with Cindy attempting to pass off the plot of Annie Hall as her life. It works well as a comedy moment in its own right, but also serves to set up Cindy's story arc for the rest of the season.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
