Orange Is The New Black: 10 Best Moments From Season 3
6. Stella Arrives
Of the new additions to the cast for season 3, it was the impending arrival of Australian model Ruby Rose that garnered the most hype. She doesnt appear straightaway though; her character, Stella Carlin, ends up in Litchfield in episode 6, and it was definitely worth the wait. She works with Piper in the prisons new Whispers factory, and the pair have an immediate chemistry and clear attraction, signalling trouble ahead of Piper and Alexs relationship. For someone in prison shes a rather free spirit, and brings out a different side to Piper. It isnt entirely a pleasant one, but rather than going full-on love triangle for the remainder of the series it serves to drive a wedge between Alex and Piper, and gets the latter to do more away from the former. Their relationship this season felt like it was going over old ground, so having Stella arrive worked well to change things up, and she proved a compelling character in her own right, and one well hopefully learn more about now it seems shell be sticking around Litchfield a while longer.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
