Piper's on again, off again flame Alex Vause spent much of season 3 trying to evade the killers that she was sure were coming for her as a result of her testifying against her former boss. With the introduction of Lolly she starts to get really concerned, before Lolly ends up being a crazy person who is more scared of Vause than she is of her.

Instead, she ends up cornered in the greenhouse towards the end of the last episode, with one of the new batch of prison guards holding a gun to her face. The scene cuts away and now we have to wait another year to find out if she survives the encounter.

She simply has to so that she can get revenge on the massively self-absorbed Piper, who was so wrapped up in her own little dramas - as usual - that she not only didn't care about the legitimate fears that Vause had, but also shacked up with somebody else practically right in front of her while they were in a relationship.
