The flashback device was used heavily in season one and fleshed out the main ensembles backstories. A technique threading the current episodes theme with the backstory of a highlighted character, it worked so well because the audience was allowed an understanding of the motivating factors behind certain peoples behaviours. While the majority of the leading players have had their pasts exposed, theres still a lot more to unearth. Thankfully, the shows creator Jenji Kohan opened up and stated therell be more flashback segments for most of the cast. Right off the bat, theres a lot more to know about Reds crime. Whats known is that she busted a womans breast implant and she was somehow involved with a drug smuggling ring. If theres chance of a flashback to the inciting incident, thatd make for one hell of an episode. As long as it answers the question: why does Reds husband never visit her?
