Orange Is The New Black Season 2: 12 Things That Should Happen

4. Quirky Content

It€™s a drama and a comedy, which gives Orange license to do whatever the hell it damn well pleases. The dramatics force tension into the storylines, and the humour eases it out with a sigh of relief. They€™re both essential elements to the show€™s success. A byproduct of dramedy is quirkiness. It€™s a tool the showrunners have used to great effect in the first season, introducing bizarre little plotlines to run concurrently with grander arcing stories. The Chickening, for example, was one of the silliest and funniest episodes of season one. There should absolutely be more bonkers stories - purely to cut through the increasingly serious main story threads. There does appear to be something upcoming in season two which fulfils this parameter. From Netflix€™s array of marketing images comes a nasal-snort-inducing pic: the gang at a mock job fair. Staggered across the stage in the prison chapel, seven of the Litchfield ladies don a mish-mash of fashion garb, presumably in an attempt to secure fake-employment for when they return to the outside world. Going by the look on Nichols€™ face, she€™s not too keen, but Sophia looks pleased as punch. Although we€™re unsure of what she€™d be suitable for in that getup.
