2. Patricia Clarkson

After a long and tantalising wait Patricia Clarkson was introduced as Ron's first ex-wife, Tammy One, in Season 4. If Megan Mullally's Tammy Two had a disturbing effect on Ron, it paled to nothing compared with Tammy One. We discover that not only was Tammy One the nurse that delivered Ron, but also taught him middle school, Sunday school, and driver's ed (and sex when taking his virginity, shudder). Whilst Tammy Two turned Ron into a reckless teenager who makes terrible, if sexy, decisions, Tammy One turns him foetal and emotionally castrated. As Amy Poehler said of Tammy's appearance, "It's the creepiest thing that's happened to Ron, and we've seen Ron in corn rows." Tammy One is referenced in the finale of Season 3. Donna rushes to tell Ron that his ex-wife is back, to which there was initial confusion as Tammy Two was in the scene. When Donna confirms it's "the other one", Tammy Two exclaims "oh sh*t" and flees (well, you would if someone's attacked you with acid, wouldn't you). This provided the perfect introduction to Clarkson's portrayal of the powerful and deeply unsettling Tammy One. In the first episode of Season 4 we are fully introduced to Clarkson's Tammy. She is an IRS Agent, and has arrived to audit Ron. At first Ron is outwardly dismissive, but then realises that if he doesn't comply he may be sent to prison. Unfortunately for Ron, instead of bank accounts or receipts he has large amounts of gold buried around Pawnee. Horrified by the state of his paper finances, Tammy One demands access to the entirety of Ron's life, evidently gaining back some of the power she had over him when they were married. Of course, Tammy's state-appointed power is all a ruse. She had not been sent to audit Ron, but was using her status to take stock of all Ron's assets (as well as where his gold is buried) to judge whether she wanted to start a future with him. In a cruel twist of fate, Ron's mother (Tammy Zero) appears, and proposes a drinking contest to decide who takes Ron. Leslie admirably enters (God bless Drunk Leslie), but in the end it is Ron who wins to finally take back some power from the Tammies that rule his existence.
