8. Savitar

Arrowverse Villains
The CW

Appeared In: The Flash (Season 3)

For the third year in a row, Barry Allen faced off against a villainous speedster when he came face-to-face with Savitar. While previous speedsters had the ability to outrun Barry, Savitar could do so much more because he was the God of Speed. Well, at least that's what he wanted us to call him.

With a gigantic Transformer-like suit and the ability to move so fast that the untrained eye could not even see him, Savitar was undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. This, along with his compelling backstory, could have made him the show's most intriguing villain yet. Unfortunately, this was simply a case of the show that went to the well one time too many. The Flash had already recycled their winning formula in Season 2 when Zoom showed up and, for the most part, it was another success. However, the same could not be said about Savitar.

Yet again we were left wondering as to who the man behind the speed-suit actually was. But this time it dragged on so long, that the vast majority of fans actually figured out the truth before the reveal. Although the reveal itself was a goosebump-inducing moment, it should have happened a lot sooner than it actually did.

Though he didn't reach his full potential, Savitar was still an incredible sight to behold. In addition, his tragic backstory made him The Flash's ultimate foil (while Grant Gustin thrived in the villainous role), but it was ultimately marred by the convoluted time-travel/time-remnant plot.
