11. The Batman
Another show that holds a place in the hearts of many a Bat-fan, The Batman - a series drawn by Jeff Matsuda (of Jackie Chan Adventures fame) - may not have hit the heights of Batman: The Animated Series, but it still provided what was at the time a fresh and exciting take on the character.
The series saw a young Bruce Wayne take centre stage and offered some massive reinterpretations of the more familiar members of Batman's rogues gallery. The show also featured the talents of Frank Gorshin and Adam West, along with the likes of Rino Romano, Dan Castellaneta and Ming-Na Wen in their own leading roles. Romano's Batman may not've been Kevin Conroy's, but he still provided an authentic voice for The Dark Knight - one immediately complimented by the show's classic yet refreshingly modern synthesis of the Bat-mythos.
One of the more interesting aspects of the series was that it gave Batgirl the honour of being Batman's first protege, and not - like most other interpretations - Robin. The Boy Wonder did of course come later, but, for most of the show's third and fourth season, it was Barbara who led the charge in animation. A different take, then, on the more established tenets of the character, but one that worked nonetheless.
