Ranking Every Superhero From The Boys From Worst To… Even Worse

They're meant to be the good guys!

With the current movie and TV industry so ridiculously saturated with superhero content, The Boys offers an alternative view of a world filled with powered individuals. In this regard, the comic was somewhat ahead of its time in 2006, and has only grown in popularity since.

The superheroes created by Garth Ennis were very different from those put out by Marvel and DC, as there wasn't a heroic bone in just about any of their bodies. Instead, the heroes were concerned more about their fame, their status, and their bank accounts.

This has been translated into Amazon Prime's TV series incredibly well, as the majority of the heroes introduced are truly detestable. From Madelyn Stillwell's very first scene in episode one, it is clear that profits and branding opportunities come before actually protecting the world, an outlook which is shared by most of the supes under the Vought umbrella.

There are over 200 superheroes in the Vought family, and though we only get to scratch the surface and meet just a handful, they certainly make a lasting impression. They may not have reached quite the levels of awful as their comic counterparts, but these so called heroes are still truly terrible.

Starlight is not your typical Vought superhero. She applied to be Lamplighter's replacement in the Seven with the genuine hope that she could continue her good work, but on a much wider scale. While this may well be the same for more of Vought's heroes, Starlight did not become corrupted by the lifestyle.

When she saw a girl being attacked, she didn't hesitate to help, despite having no back up or intel that the other Vought superheroes wouldn't get out of bed without. Throughout her time in the Seven, she tried to stand up for what she believed in, and tried to be a good role model, until she decided enough was enough and found herself playing double agent with the Boys.

Annie was the one who ultimately released the truth about Compound V to the world, and fought Stormfront, stopping her from killing her friends. From the very beginning, her main objective was to save the world, and to stop Vought's corruption and dangerous supes.

It may have taken Billy far too long to come around to the idea that not all supes are bad, but Annie is the solid proof of that. Even after Stormfront was stopped, Starlight stayed with the Seven to watch over the company's superheroes moving forward.
