Ranking All 25 The Simpsons Season Finales

7. The Secret War Of Lisa Simpson

Who Shot Mr Burns
Fox

Season: 8

Once upon a time, Lisa Simpson really was something of a feminist icon for young girls. As silly as that may seem - it's a cartoon, after all - episodes like The Secret War of Lisa Simpson saw her pushing boundaries and doing things young girls weren't supposed to do, like joining the behaviorally challenged Bart at military school when she sees a class studying poetry.

If The Secret War of Lisa Simpson was just that, however, it probably wouldn't rank so highly. What elevates the episode is the bonding between brother and sister. Sure, Bart can be mean to his sister in the way that only an older brother really can, but when he shows that he really loves her, such as in this episode, it creates a rather special moment for the series. The fact that he goes against the rest of the boys at the school to help her makes it even more endearing.

It's also hilarious that Bart is already a weapon's expert, having attended public school (and being the most devious ten year old in history). That also makes for a classic moment, especially when he manages to shell Skinner's car.
