Ranking The Doctor Who Series Finales From Worst To Best

1. Bad Wolf & The Parting Of The Ways (Series 1)

First broadcast: Saturday 11th June 2005 & Saturday 18th June 2005 Taking the top spot in our countdown of Doctor Who series finales is Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways which is the one that started it all as far as NuWho finales are concerned. Series 1's climactic two-parter turns 10 years old next month and a decade later it's showing no signs of ageing. As the Ninth Doctor's first and only finale, the epic adventure featured an almighty showdown with the Daleks aboard the Satellite Five space station. As one of its titles would suggest, it also served as the culmination of the ongoing Bad Wolf mystery which had captivated viewers since it was first mentioned at the start of the series. And guess what? It had absolutely nothing to do with the Daleks! The revelation that the persistent pepperpots were also none the wise about the ominous phrase was just one of many surprises that came to light in this suspenseful story. Rose Tyler defied the odds by absorbing the energies of the time vortex, Captain Jack Harkness got exterminated and brought back to immortality and our heroes found themselves fighting to the death within a menagerie of gameshows gone mad. What more could you possibly want from a Doctor Who finale? Oh, a regeneration? It had one of those, too. What did you think of this list?
