In the wake of the murder selfie, everyone begins freaking out about Brandon James being back, even though it would be kind of weird for him to come back wearing a Brandon James mask. Sal from Mad Men shows up and is really pissed that the killer is using Brandon James imagery, explaining that the town had finally left its past behind from back when they were “scraping Murderville off our town sign.”

Later on, the Murderville nickname makes another appearance at the basketball game when some kids hold a hilariously distasteful sign that says “Beat Murderville” and then a bunch of drawings of bloody knives. Can you even imagine a world where people would do this to a school that just lost two of its students to violent murders and the killer hasn’t yet been caught? This whole TV universe just takes death so lightly.
