A perennial fan fave, orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Hooch is a prime example of a character who has transcended his sparse deployment (appearing in a mere five episodes across a 169-episode series) and become a figure with something of a cult following among Scrubs fans. Portrayed by Phill Lewis (best known for his role as Mr. Moseby in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody), Hooch was once a good-natured member of Sacred Hearts surgical staff, but thanks to the increasingly devious influences of J.D and Turk, his temperament splinters across a number of episodes, and his mental stability ends up completely compromised by the shows finale. Its something of a shame; if only hed had more time with Dr. Turner, the two of them could have woven such medical magic. From giving him brothy showers to setting overly eager interns on his trail, J.D. and Turk are actually pretty malicious with their treatment of Hooch. But hey, the guy is pretty crazy, and thats why Hooch is so revered among fans. Wacky as the world of Sacred Heart hospital can be, theres something extra edgy and riotously entertaining about watching the effects of the protagonists antics on some hapless chap cursed with a slightly amusing name. Best Line: I will wait in my SUV, blast me some speed metal - 5.1 surround sound, heavy on the bass - and someone will be getting mowed down.
