Scrubs: 10 Best Characters In Just One Episode
3. Murray
Just several months after Chandler Bing and his friends made their final appearance, Matthew Perry turned up at Sacred Heart and the two characters were quite similar. Like Chandler, Murray was a sarcastic man, and had a troubled relationship with his dad, only without the Las Vegas burlesque act.
When Gregory, Murray's father was first admitted to the hospital in need of a kidney, he didn't reach out to his son. Maybe it was because he wasn't actually his biological son, and he didn't think they would be a match, or maybe he knew how Murray would react.
Perhaps the younger Marks held onto childhood grudges like being given an old man's name for too long, but finding out his dad took his prom date on vacation without telling him is a more understandable reason to not want to see him. Either way, trying to charge £70,000 for his kidney was possibly a touch extreme.
Eventually however, with a little help from JD, Murray saw the light and gave his dad what he needed. He still wasn't happy about having to listen to his father's stupid guitar, but at least he did the right thing. The fact that Matthew Perry was acting opposite his real father, and directed the episode himself, may have had no small part to do with the character being given every chance to shine.
