She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode One Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs
3. Up - Far Better CGI Than Expected
As said previously, there were genuine concerns from fans surrounding the quality of the CGI in She-Hulk. There has been much controversy in the MCU CGI arena recently, and the effects have been surprisingly sub-par for much of Phase Four, so it’s understandable that fans expected the same from this series.
In the first trailer, Jennifer Walters in her She-Hulk form looked shockingly poor compared to the franchise’s typical standard, and though it was improved slightly for the second trailer, it still left a lot to be desired. When the first episode finally dropped however, the CGI was actually surprisingly strong.
She-Hulk herself looked much better, as did Smart Hulk, but what was potentially the most eye-opening was the car crash scene. Compare that to a similar scene involving a cupcake truck from Moon Knight and there is absolutely no doubt which looked better.
The CGI wasn’t perfect however, as the blink and you’ll miss it fight scene between Jen and Titania left a lot to be desired, but it was much, much stronger than anticipated, so much so that a sub-par fight scene can be forgiven so long as She-Hulk herself looks as good as possible.
