Sherlock: 10 Best Minor Characters
1. Irene Adler
Well, if you thought John's time with romance was bad, then get a load of this.
Calling Irene Adler a minor character feels like a bit of a stretch seeing as she was so significant to Sherlock's development. Still, she only appeared in one episode - excluding a cameo in the mind palace - meaning that she falls into the category. Her time spent in "A Scandal In Belgravia" was instantly memorable, as she posed a massive challenge to Sherlock and charmed audiences with her effortless confidence.
Adler was a dominatrix who used sexuality to gather information and images from high-ranking officials - including royal family members - to act as insurance and pave her lifestyle. This came to a head when she ran amuck with Sherlock, constantly flirting with him and attempting to use him to further her agenda, which ended up backfiring for her in the end.
Although she wasn't entirely a villain, she acted as a primary antagonist yet managed to come across as likeable thanks to her quick wit, intellect and bravado. It was hard not to root for her as she almost brought the entire country to its knees.
