Sherlock: 7 Things We Can Look Forward To In Season 4

7. (Quite Possibly) A Sherlock Christmas Special

The high ratings of Season 3 has made the BBC very eager to fast-track the next season of Sherlock. They also may even be considering a Christmas special, which would definitely make the wait for Season 4 a bit more bearable. Last year we were treated to the mini-episode 'Many Happy Returns' on Christmas Eve, which was released online. This 7-minute short was a fantastic teaser for a long-anticipated season; I'm only assuming that if this year's version is being called a Christmas "special," then it will probably be aired on television and last longer than seven minutes. How long, then? A half an hour? An hour? Keep in mind, too, that Steven Moffat has the hour-long Doctor Who Christmas special as well, so Sherlock may take second-place to that. Also, everything depends on the availability of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, who are now both incredibly sought-out actors, mostly thanks to Sherlock. Still, a Sherlock Christmas special! The fact that it's even a possibility is exciting!
