Sherlock: The Worst Episode From Every Season
2. Season Two - The Hounds Of Baskerville
Had The Hounds of Baskerville been released during any other season, it would not be on this list, but unfortunately for the episode, it shares the same season as A Scandal in Belgravia and The Reichenbach Fall, two fantastic episodes, and this episode just falters in comparison.
Which is a shame, really, because The Hounds of Baskerville is not a bad episode. Far from it, really. It's slick, imaginative, fun, creative, and eventful, making for a terrific modern reworking of one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous novels. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman both give superlative performances here and the episode boasts great work both in the writing and directing department, giving viewers plenty of scares and thrills, enough to keep us engaged and entertained.
Still, the episode did disappoint some viewers, some feeling it sorely lacking especially when compared to all the other great episodes of the series. There's also the fact that this episode doesn't really contribute much to the overall plot of the series and works more as a stand-alone episode, which isn't bad, but it definitely puts it on the lower end of the list when it comes to necessary episodes. Still, The Hounds of Baskerville is very much worth the watch, giving us an overall exciting and memorable Sherlock episode.
