8. Lyla Winston

From porn star to porn director, Lyla didn't have the "easiest" arc across the series. After being introduced in season two as one of Cara Cara's shining stars, Lyla entered into a romance with Opie that culminated in their marriage at the start of the show's fourth season and ended later on when Opie discovered she had been doing her best to avoid getting pregnant. Considering the Winston family track record having left Donna, Piney and Opie all deceased, it was hard not to worry for Lyla heading forward in the wake of the latter's death early in season five. While working at Diosa, Frankie Diamonds held her hostage during his attempt to flee from the club and she was later beaten beyond belief as part of the Ghazeni brothers' torture porn efforts. A single mom attempting to raise both her own child and Opie's, Lyla's presence in the club's world often meant a target could be on her back at any moment, made even more evident during the massacre of innocents at Diosa by the Triads in the final season. Fortunately, though, Red Woody never came under attack, giving Lyla the chance to step up into her behind-the-scenes role in the club's profitable business, support the kids through a less dangerous outlet and gain a stable sendoff on the show.
