Sons Of Anarchy: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
6. Nero Padilla
The nature of Sons of Anarchy had audiences rooting for outlaws, killers, and characters who really should have been antagonists. While most of these were well liked throughout the series, Nero Padilla may have been the most absurdly likeable gangster in the entire show.
This was reflected in the other characters just as much as the audience. Almost immediately he treated Gemma, Jax, and by extension the entire club as family, and they offered him a similar regard. He was smart, he was funny, and he treated the people in his life well.
There was also an element of sympathy for Nero, as his son Lucius had Spina Bifida, and every move he seemed to make to bring himself closer to leaving the streets for good dragged him even deeper into the life. So much so that he ended up massacring a group of One-Niners before the end of the series.
Though he could absolutely be ruthless when he needed to be, he didn't deserve the twists and turns his relationship with the club forced him into. He was the father figure of the series' later seasons, and he acted as the show's moral compass. It's good he survived to see the end of the series, as it's unthinkable how fans would have reacted to his death scene.
