South Park: 10 Most Disturbing Episodes

Even the most mean-spirited of horror films tend to tread carefully when it comes to the subject of school shootings, but South Park has never been known for its subtlety, and their take on the highly distressing issue is every bit as brilliant as you'd expect.

If the horrible name wasn't enough to clue you in on this episode's inherent darkness, we're almost immediately shown the kids answering math problems whilst the harrowing sounds of an active shooter ring out from the corridors, although nobody reacts to the chaos. These ideas are utilised further and more abundantly throughout the episode, and they never fail to be intentionally provocative and darkly funny.

The B-plot in which Sharon slowly loses her mind due to everyone's compliant attitude is a perfect reminder as to the baffling acceptance of such acts being a facet of American culture but in typical South Park fashion, it's perfectly complemented by Randy constantly asking her if Aunt Flo has come to visit.

A somewhat obvious and incredibly puerile joke, but one that the writers get a surprising amount of mileage out of. Which is a further testament to their comedy chops.
