South Park: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best
4. Stan Marsh
Speaking of, Stan Marsh is considered by the creators to be incredibly similar to Kyle and having the same position in the show as the moral compass. But this statement is a disservice to the unique characteristics he brings to the table that contrast the rest of the characters.
Stan is evidently shown to be the most vapid member of the cast, as he often allows his own vanity to take over his motives and actions. The fact that people seem to herald him as the leading figure of the school and all around decent guy clearly goes to his head at many points, leading to some excellent comedy - as seen in the episode "Butterballs".
He is not as clearly defined as other cast members, but Stan is by no means an underdeveloped character as he has had some of the most significant changes and moments within the show. His life with Tegridy farms and general relationship with his irresponsible father has given him this nihilistic edge that has a unique place in the town of South Park.
