Star Trek: 10 Most Underrated Characters

3. Quark

Quark had his share of flaws, but would you rather be anywhere else when in search of a drink in Bajoran space? We didn't think so.

The heart of Deep Space Nine's community, Quark's provided a place to relax, play a few rounds of Dabo, and cut loose. Although his Ferengi culture often clashed with his patrons, they typically relied on Quark for advice in solving their problems - or just a shoulder to cry on. We're looking at you, Bashir.

The Ferengi bartender's wry observations of "hu-mon" culture served as the perfect foil to the Federation's utopian ideals. Even when he was being a total pest, Quark could see past the Federation's gleam to know most of its citizens would turn into ravenous wolves if denied their holosuites and root beer.

Unlucky in love and even unluckier in profit, Quark's follies provided the perfect comic relief to lighten Deep Space Nine's darker tone. Maybe tone down the raging sexism, though.
