Star Trek: 10 Riker Romances That Were A TOTAL Security Risk

There's definitely something in the air when the Enterprise arrives at Ba'ku in Star Trek: Insurrection. Data's gone kaput, Worf's erupting, and Picard's swapping his beloved classical music for the mambo. But there's also something sinister afoot.

Before his malfunction, Data had been on a joint Federation/Son'a mission, spying on the amicable Ba'ku. Riker and Troi research the Federation's new allies, and their shady backstory reads like something from Mos Eisley. Remember this for what comes later.

After Picard finally manages to capture Data, they discover he was shot by a Son'a weapon. What's more, Geordi makes it clear that his ethical subroutines had taken over, putting his disclosure of the cloaked observation post and attack on his colleagues in a very different light.

So Picard beams to the surface to investigate the obvious conspiracy, leaving Riker in charge of the ship. And what's Riker's most pressing issue? Jumping into a romantic bubble bath with Deanna.

Let's recap: Data's been shot by their unscrupulous new allies, Riker himself raised serious concerns about the Son'a's rap sheet, Picard's off ship investigating a potentially dangerous situation...and Riker and Deanna are cosying up in the tub?!

Yes, their hormones are raging thanks to the regenerative properties of the metaphasic radiation in the planet's rings, but that's no excuse for the first officer. It's called self-control. And frankly, they had seven seasons of The Next Generation to sort out their will-they-won't-they situation. But no, they chose that moment to say yes, yes, yes?

Still, Riker got his cosmic punishment. We just hope it's only the beard she shaved.
