4. James Kirk’s Father, George, Served As The First Officer Aboard The Enterprise
George Kirk gets all his screen time from the Kelvin timeline where he dies aboard, well, the Kelvin. But, in the Prime Universe, he has a much longer career. He’s even spent time as the first officer aboard, you guessed it, the Enterprise!
While on the Enterprise he serves under Robert April. He’s only there for one mission, The Rosenberg Operation. The Rosenberg was a ship with a civilian crew disabled by an ion storm. The Enterprise, fresh from the shipyards, is the only ship able to reach the Rosenberg in time.
Captain April assembles a skeleton crew to take part in the rescue mission. He taps George Kirk as he first officer, and together they venture into the Romulan Neutral Zone. Fortunately, for Kirk, they don’t encounter any time-traveling Romulans while there.
