Star Trek: EVERY Chief Of Security Ranked From WORST To BEST

16. Giotto - USS Enterprise

By the time Kirk and Spock were hunting down The Devil in the Dark, it was Lieutenant Commander Giotto who was heading up security. First name Antonio...or Barry...or Salvatore depending on which novel you read. It's nice to see he made such an impression they named him thrice.

We have to say, we like the cut of Giotto's jib. When everything was falling apart in those mines, he kept a cool, calm head. It's just that circumstances got a little away from him. After coordinating the search effort for the creature in the caverns, he was tasked with keeping the vigilante miners away from the Horta. And by goodness, that's exactly what he was going to do...until they knocked him out and ran away.

That's about it for his on-screen adventures, but a collection of novels gave Giotto a few more exploits to get his teeth into. Between fighting off Klingons and keeping the peace, it's good to know that Giotto might have disappeared from our screens, but he wasn't entirely forgotten.
