Star Trek: EVERY Chief Of Security Ranked From WORST To BEST

During The Original Series, the role of chief security officer hadn't really been fully fleshed out. At least, not as we know it today, and not enough to have a single featured character in the position. Instead, we were introduced to a revolving door of chief redshirts, although luckily, not all of them went the same way as the common redshirt.

Strange New Worlds retrospectively added a more constant security presence in the form of La'An Noonien-Singh, but that only makes it all the more conspicuous that no one seemed to stay in the job for long once Kirk took over. Maybe Kirk's capers were just too much for the average chief.

We start with Lieutenant Pitcairn, best known for...well...guarding a door. Although he did have the dubious honour of arresting Spock for mutiny in The Menagerie. It's not the ideal claim to fame, but given Spock's hijacking of the Enterprise to return the severely injured Captain Pike to Talos IV, someone had to do it. And let's be honest, that must have taken some nerve.

It's not much of a legacy, but there are worse ones on this list.
