Star Trek: Every Enterprise Ranked Worst To Best

Star Trek Insurrection Enterprise

Star Trek: Generations saw the destruction the Enterprise-D. This was mostly due to the fact that the filming model of the Galaxy-class starship had not been designed for motion picture filming, nor had the sets. So, it suffered the indignity of destruction at the hands of the Duras Sisters, but it is not all bad news.

Star Trek: First Contact required the creation of a new starship and the Sovereign class Enterprise-E was born. The ship was primarily designed by John Eaves, under the supervision of Herman Zimmerman. It was designed to be much longer, though sleeker than the Enterprise-D. It would be a ship that could believably face the Borg.

Its size is on full-show as it flies passed the USS Defiant, even though it is later dwarfed by the S'ona Collector and, to a lesser extent, the Reman Scimitar.

To date, it has only appeared on television as a model in the first episode of Star Trek: Picard, with the background set appearing behind Deanna Troi in Star Trek: Voyager, Life Line. This beautiful design deserves more appearances, particularly as it was conspicuously missing during the Dominion War arc in Deep Space Nine.
