3. Captain Benjamin Sisko

Benjamin Sisko was born in 2332 in New Orleans, after a Prophet arranged his birth. He began attending the academy in 2350, where he intially studied to be an engineer. This would later help in the creation of the USS Defiant.

While at the academy, he befriended Calvin Hudson, with whom he served at New Berlin in the first year of his assignment after graduation. He also met Curzon Dax, who became a mentor to Sisko, nurturing his sense of diplomacy and honour. They served together aboard the USS Livingston.

He was promoted to Lieutenant and then served aboard the USS Okinawa under Captain Leyton. During the Tzenkethi War, he was promoted to executive officer and was not afraid to disagree with his captain.

Tragedy would follow as he was assigned as first officer of the USS Saratoga, which was lost during the Battle of Wolf 359, resulting in the death of his wife Jennifer. He would consider leaving Starfleet at this point, though after three years he was reassigned to Deep Space Nine.

He served as Commander of the station for three years, also commanding the Defiant for the third year. During that time, he defended the station in battle and engaged in first contact with The Dominion, although this would later lead to dire consequences.

After three years in command of the station, Sisko was finally rewarded with the rank of Captain in 2371, which he celebrated by shaving his head and having the station retrofitted with a major upgrade of the weapons array!
