Star Wars: 10 Reasons Why Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi Is Awesome
3. Ewan McGregor Is Brilliant
Ewan McGregor's terrific performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the only genuinely strong turns in the largely ill-acted Star Wars Prequels. If anything, he outdoes himself in his return to the iconic role, providing an understated yet moving depiction of trauma and grief.
Not only does McGregor give a deeply affecting performance as the broken Jedi Master in the early episodes, but he absolutely nails every step of Obi-Wan's journey throughout the rest of the series as well. Every moment he's on-screen McGregor radiates pathos and charisma, and it's thanks the Scot's superb turn that Obi-Wan's spiritual recovery at the end of the series is so damn uplifting.
Really, he's the MVP of the show. Even when the series takes detours into illogical or predictable territory, McGregor is always there to hold everything together.
It's not only one of the highlights of Ewan McGregor's career, but one of the strongest Star Wars performances, period.
