Star Wars Rebels Season 3: 12 Best Moments
3. Sabine Reveals Her Past
Trials of the Darksabar was by far, one
of the best episodes that the series had to offer. It was an episode that was
completely about its characters, about their own internal struggles and using
that to sustain the drama, rather than relying on action and battle sequences.
Understanding that he’s holding back with her training, Kanan changes tactics and decides to push Sabine harder to try and break down the emotional barriers that are holding her back. And when she finally breaks, it’s an avalanche of emotion. She finally lets go of her secrets, reveals the real reason she left Mandalore and why she can never go back back, all while beating Kanan down with all the anger she can muster.
It’s a moment that defines the character that Sabine has become. Over the course of the three seasons, she has become a formidable asset to the Rebel Alliance and earned her status as a Mandalorian warrior in the show.
Tiya Sircar’s delivery of the monologue is nothing short of outstanding and is some of the best voice work we have seen all series. It’s passionate and emotional and all the factors tie together to create one fantastic moment that stayed with me for the rest of the run.
