1. What Is Ezra Bridger's Fate?

And to wrap up, the final question: what is the fate of Ezra Bridger?

While Sabine and Ezra both grew to share the spotlight of Rebels, in the beginning, the focus was more on Ezra. He may have drawn criticism early on as being compared to Disney’s Aladdin, but he quickly grew into something else entirely.

Look at the things that he has done. Not only has he been trained by Kanan, but also, in small ways, by iconic figures like Master Yoda, Obi-Wan and even Maul. He has learned the ways of the both the Light and the Dark side, using them for ultimately good intentions. He has constructed two lightsabars, used both a Jedi and Sith Holocron and combined them together, seeing what many Jedi never would.

There has been a lot of talk about Gray Jedi, Force-users that walk the line between the Light and the Dark. Ahsoka is said to have been one of them, that Kanan could also be one of them. There was also the Bendu, the very embodiment of the concept and there are even rumours that it will factor into The Last Jedi. Ezra is a strong candidate to be a Gray Jedi and this could be where his story is heading.

His death would not sit right with the story that has been told. Yes, he cannot be around throughout the original trilogy, but he just needs to be out of the picture. Many believe that he will reappear in The Last Jedi, but if that is true, what has been doing all this time? Why did he abandon the Rebellion?

Ezra’s fate is perhaps the most intriguing of them all. He is not your average Jedi and clearly has a role to play in the bigger universe of Star Wars, beyond Rebels. But whatever Filoni and his team have decided for the character, it's sure to be one of the key climatic moments of this final season.
