Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

9. Padmé Amidala

Padmé is always remembered for her awkward courtship with Anakin in Attack of the Clones, Natalie Portman's lacklustre performance and her admittedly shoddy death scene.

In The Clone Wars, Padmé is finally given the kind of development and narrative exposure she always deserved. Spending the series fighting tirelessly for peace and often going behind enemy lines single-handedly to fight the Galaxy's twisted corruptions, the Senator is easily one of the strongest and most endearing characters in the show.

We also get more time to explore her relationship with Anakin, retroactively making the prequels much more affecting and adding great emotional depth to the couples' tragic time together.

The Clone Wars perfectly balances Padmé's political resilience, emotional strength and bravery, and effortlessly reminds fans just how great a character she is under the inexcusable fumbles of the prequel trilogy. It's really quite spectacular.
