Jon Favreau is the creative mind behind this whole enterprise, and as well as creating and executive producing the series, he's also going to serve as writer too.

It's unclear if he'll be alone, however: while the writing team hasn't been announced yet, the initial statement from Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy stated there would be "a diverse group of writers and directors" involved.

Those directors, at the very least, have now been confirmed. Alongside their announcement that production was underway, Lucasfilm revealed the five directors for the series, including: Dave Filoni, who is as well-versed in Star Wars as anyone and will direct the pilot, Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), and, most surprisingly (but excitingly) Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

Making Star Wars, meanwhile, report that Greg Fraser is set to work on the cinematographer of the show which, given his work on Rogue One, would be just as exciting as Filoni and Waititi etc coming onboard.
