Stargate Atlantis Cast: Where Are They Now?

8. Paul McGillion

Stargate Atlantis Beckett
MGM

Here there is another Star Trek crossover, albeit his role in Star Trek was a blink and you'll miss it situation! Paul McGillion appeared as Dr. Carson Beckett in Stargate: Atlantis, recurring for the first season before starring for the second and third. He dropped down to recurring for the fourth and fifth season's respectively.

He would go on to appear in the JJ Abram's Star Trek film, in a very small part as 'Barracks Leader'.

After that, he would appear with Amanda Tapping again in her series Sanctuary, and would have roles in Supernatural and Smallville. Although he is from Scotland originally, he is Scottish-Canadian and does not generally speak with the accent he uses on screen - something not too dissimilar to James Doohan's portrayal of Scotty. He lobbied hard for that part in Abrams' film, though he lost out to Simon Pegg.

He has one child with his partner, born in 2012.
