Stargate: Every Series And Movie Ranked Worst To Best
16. Stargate Continuum
While this direct to DVD movie that rounds out SG-1 is quite fun, it's a little pointless at the end of the day. Time travel stories have a tendency to either round themselves around on themselves again or alter far too much of the continuity to make you wonder what you're watching. While it was clear that this film wouldn't take it self too seriously, it was good to see a conclusion to the Ba'al storyline that was as camp and over-the-top as he was.
After SG1 has dealt with almost all of it's major threats, the Tok'ra perform a ceremony to extract the Goa'uld Ba'al from his long-suffering host and SG1 are invited to attend. Ba'al begins his customary gloating, then things start to change, the entire timeline has been shifted in Ba'al's favour, due to an unknown time machine that he's kept hidden away. Just three members of SG1 make it back through the gate to find their Earth completely unaware of the Stargate and the threats in the galaxy beyond them.
While charming enough, this film was really one that just gave Ba'al one last laugh and could easily have been a two-part episode at some point in an eleventh season of SG1.
