I've not been overly keen on the mentions (and the mentions and the mentions) of Kara's cousin on the show, as it has felt like they've really been beating us over the head with it. I know that's part of the show - that Kara herself is beaten over the head with it - but at times it has really felt forced, and a little unnecessary. With Supergirl struggling against Reactron, she refused to call the Man of Steel for help, which was a promising development. However, James Olsen does it for her, and he shows up to save the day before moving swiftly on, and we don't even get to see his face. In fact, he stopped the villain in that one instance, but then left him free to go after Kara later on. Great job, Supes. The chat message towards the end was admittedly a nice touch - although not particularly secure for keeping their identities a secret - but on the whole the Superman stuff feels really overdone, especially having him actually turn up and be the one to save Kara.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
