Supergirl: 7 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Fight Or Flight'

5. Kara And Alex - Up

Outside of Kara being Supergirl, it's also good to see the show devote plenty of time to Kara Danvers, not just Zor-El. While this is partially shown while she's at work, especially as the fumbling assistant to Cat Grant, it's even more evident in the scenes with her sister Alex. Melissa Benoist and Chyler Leigh have a really easy, enjoyable chemistry on-screen together (Benoist has admitted that scenes with Leigh are her favourite to shoot), and we generally get some fun moments that help develop the characters as people, not just in the context of being Supergirl (or her sister). The one at the end of this episode was a great example of this, with the pair of them just hanging out, eating, and joking about getting fat and watching Homeland. In a series with superheroes and villains it's a small moment, but one that plays a big part in establishing who these characters really are, which is important if this show is going to last.
