Supergirl: 7 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Fight Or Flight'

4. Cat Grant And Maxwell Lord - Up

Maxwell Lord had already popped-up briefly on Supergirl, on-screen within the show as part of a news report, but we're fully introduced to him this week. Played by Peter Facinelli, he comes across like a poor man's Tony Stark, and is nowhere near as likeable, but despite that is still fun to watch on screen as he becomes the target of Reactron's attempts to save himself. His best moment, though, comes at Cat's party to celebrate her exclusive interview with Supergirl. It becomes apparent that the two have something of a, erm, history together, and they engage in a spot of slow-dancing and hate-flirting. In fairness Calista Flockhart could be given a broom to work with and she'd still give it a tongue-lashing, but this new verbal sparring partner makes for a great match. The addition of Lord to the roster is an interesting one, given in the comics he plays a big part in getting the Justice League together. For obvious reasons that won't be happening here, and it does throw up the question of exactly what role he'll serve, but for the time being just having more of him and Cat will be enough.
