Supergirl Season 2: 6 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The Last Children Of Krypton'

2. Kara Wanting To Leave National City

It’s easy to see how Kara Zor-El may be a little over-excited at the prospect of working alongside her cousin, Superman, but parts of The Last Children of Krypton didn’t particularly paint Supergirl in the greatest light on this front.

Gushing over Kal-El, Kara is yearning to move to Metropolis to be by his side on a more permanent basis. Now this is something that is understandable and was rightly explored by the show – it just felt as if Supergirl had Kara pandering a little too much to leave National City behind.

As a disgruntled Alex points out, she’s spent her entire life trying to protect Kara, and so now she just wants to pack her tights and cape and leave National City for the bright lights of Metropolis? It’s a mighty big kick in the nuts for Alex, and you can certainly see why she’d be a bit miffed after the prospect of being an afterthought while the Girl of Steel swoons over a life with Kal-El.
