Supergirl Season 2: 6 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The Last Children Of Krypton'

Downs...

3. Cat Grant Leaving

Following on from that final “Up”, one of the biggest disappointments of The Last Children of Krypton was that it paved the way for Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant to depart the series.

As the fiery, feisty, no-nonsense, blunt, quip-tastic, often rude Cat, Flockhart has been one of the biggest highlights of Supergirl since the show began last year. In each passing episode, she never once failed to steal the show as she devoured any and all scenery in her path.

Ahead of Season 2, it was revealed that Calista Flockhart wouldn’t be a series regular in this new season, and that is likely to be a big blow to the show. Sure, Snapper Carr may be an intriguing character who will at times be used to fill the Cat Grant void, but that’s a pretty huge void to try to fill.

Luckily, this second season has seen Calista Flockhart put in two more memorable turns as Cat before she heads out of National City. Now it’s just a case of patiently waiting for this fan favourite character to turn up again at some point in the future.
