Although Season 5 is wildly regarded as one of the best Supernatural seasons, there are many plot holes left open. The story shifted widely to become mainly focused on the upcoming apocalypse, the Four Horsemen and Sam's choice to whether he would say 'yes' to Lucifer or not. A big storyline that was never resolved from this season is the introduction of Jesse Turner, the Antichrist.

Portrayed as an innocent child, Jesse is a powerful combination of a half-human and half-demon offspring. According to Castiel, Jesse was destined to become the Antichrist and help Lucifer in his war against Heaven. Jesse had the power to exorcise demons with just a few words and could potentially be a powerful weapon in the wrong hands. As Castiel argues with Sam and Dean that Jesse needs to be killed before he causes the destruction of the world, the Winchester brothers wanted to give Jesse a choice, believing if they tell the truth about who he was and his part in the war between Heaven and Hell he can choose not to join.

Jesse ultimately chooses to disappear somewhere where he can't be found. However, that's the last time we see or hear about this character. Jack was later introduced into the show, and he was also deemed the Antichrist - seemingly taking over the role from Jesse.
