2. What Happened To Castiel?
In Season 15's Despair, we see Castiel confess his love to Dean Winchester, surprising many hardcore Destiel fans by making the popular ship canon and sacrificing himself by letting the entity in the Empty take him away. Many fans were disappointed to find out that the fan-favourite angel didn’t make an appearance in the show’s finale after being such a prominent character for the past ten years.
Fans only got one line in the finale mentioning Castiel’s fate, that Jack, once he gained God’s power, took Castiel out of the empty and brought him back to help rebuild Heaven. With Castiel never shown to reunite with the Winchesters again, one of the biggest unanswered questions fans have after watching the finale is how Dean may react after seeing him again.
Castiel somewhat became the Winchesters' guardian over the years. So, it is safe for fans to assume that, while in Heaven, Castiel still did watch over Sam while he was alive, and is also watching over his son to make sure nothing bad happens to him. Although the finale disappointed fans for various reasons, Castiel not making an appearance made many fans feel unheard, as the show wouldn't have gone on for as long as it did without the loveable angel.
